What does yawning mean?
Yawning is a reflex of action that involves opening the mouth wide and inhaling deeply. Yawning helps to cool down the brain. When we are awake for a long time, our brain temperature rises due to increased metabolic activity. Yawning increases the blood flow to the face and head, which cools down the brain and prevents overheating.

Excessive yawning indicates mainly sleep disorder, sleep apnea, obstructive sleep or restless legs, narcolepsy. Other way some medication such as antidepressants, opioids, antihistamines can cause excessive yawning. In some cases, excessive yawning can indicate  a serious medical problem, such as a stroke, brain tumor associated with severe headache, a heart attack associated with chest pain, or a seizure. this condition can affect the brain's regulation of breathing and temperature that can lead to increase yawning.
